As a counselor, I believe my role is to help others tap into their own innate and powerful ability to heal. I focus on building strengths in order to empower my clients to make lasting changes and work towards personal goals. I am person centered and have been described by others as calm and non-judgmental. I support my clients in cultivating awareness around the connection between their bodies and minds in order to deepen their understanding of how they relate to themselves and others. I believe that deepening our connection with our bodies can strengthen our ability to cope with many of the stresses of living and support leading a fuller and more meaningful life. I am passionate about learning and am currently taking part in a 3-year training program called Somatic Experiencing, which teaches a body-oriented approach to support our nervous systems to become “unstuck” in order to resolve and renegotiate traumatic experiences. Somatic Experiencing promotes healing for a wide range of traumatic experiences and increases one’s self-capacity to manage stresses connected to everyday life.
